Luminosity is one of the many attributes to a great black and white photograph. Perfect lighting creating a wide range of grey tones particularly with dark areas and corresponding bright areas. If the subject lends itself to the right kind of contrast, the photograph can appear to be a bright light in an otherwise darker subject. It is this appearance of light eminating from the image that I call Luminosity. Here the light is more important than the subject.
Luminosity
Luminosity portrays the right mix of light and dark to appear to have that special glow, captured through film and digital media. Here the light is more important than the subject.
